|
|
Hello everyone,
I am a working executive, working long hours and addicted to fast food, usually eating while I'm in the office. I seem to eat whether I'm hungry or not and have got to a stage where I am unable to control my eating habit. Unfortunately, my weight is increasing and I'm being forced to buy clothes a size larger than normal. I can devote a little time to exercise, but is there a recommended safe way to lose weight? I've heard of all these diets, such as Atkins, that don't sound very healthy at all. |

Here's something you can try.
Have 6 meals a day, and aim for around 2,100 calories, because as you're sedentary, you won't need loads anyway.
You have the option to have 350 calories per meal, of if you apply the slow metabolism at night, higher at morning scenario, then possibly try a 450 calorie Breakfast, and a 250 calorie meal around 8-9PM, and 350 with the other 4.
Sounds hard, but it isn't. For example, 1 large Baked Potato, 1 skinless Chicken Breast, and 3 large Broccoli stalks would do it, or 2 Stalks and a bit of Healthy Oil, and you've got roughly 340-360 calories.
There are plenty of healthy foods you can have to get your meals on track.
Lean Chicken, Turkey, Ham, Beef, Steak, (Fat trimmed), Lamb and Pork, (Fat trimmed), Rice, Legumes, (including Lentils), Low Mercury Fish Like Salmon, Veggies, Soy and Soy products like Tofu and Natto, (Low Fat Dairy, (Low Fat Cheese, Yoghurts, Skimmed Milk etc etc), Mushrooms, Fruit, Nuts, Peanuts, Healthy Oils, like Sesame Oil, Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, etc etc Flax, (ground seeds or powdered), Whole-grain, Eggs, Pasta.
Just a few things to be aware of.
1. Fruit doesn't digest very well with other stuff, so apart from things like Tomatos and perhaps Peppers, give Fruit, 10-15 minutes to digest, then eat the erst of the meal, and have the Fruit before 2PM, so basically the firts 2-3 meals, and then ignore it for the PM, so basically all the Sugary, Acid and Citrus types, you can keep the others like Tomatos, Peppers, Cucumber etc etc for later as they're okay, because they don't contain loads of Simple Sugars that can partly convert to Fat in the Liver.
2. If you want Rice, either reduce Portions of White, or go for Brown and / or Wild.
3. Pasta, have reduced Portions, or go for Whole-wheat.
When you Want water try having a glass after meals.
You can have healthy options to snack on at work.
As examples, you could have some Low Fat Cheese and a small portion of Peanuts, or some Nuts, a piece of Fruit and a bit of Chicken or Turkey. A small sandwich or meaty / Legume Salad, so you do have those and other options, to stop you snacking.
It will take time, and a little mindset re-training, but once you get into the groove, you'll be fine yeah. |

I know exactly how you feel, I had the same probley. Luckily I cought myself before I needed to buy new clothes. What you need to do is simple. You need not to go on a diet, at least not yet, instead eat the required amount you need, and not any more than you will burn. Try this website, its so amazing.
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
When you go onto this page click on menue planner on the left side of the page. It will tell you specificly to your needs how much food and what types you need. Its form the states so its a little different, but its roughly what you need.
Make sure you learn to kill boredom not by eating. Practise awareness eating. If you find yourseld hungry between meals snack on something that will keep you full, such as nuts (1/4 cup=serving) Today portion sizes are way out of proportion, learn what a portion is of each food group.
Try to make your own meals, if its easier, make a large portion of something and freeze it for when your in a rush. Like chillie.
Dairy products, and spicy foods can help with weight lose.
If your craving somthing sweet, try fruits as they are loaded with natural sugar.
Hope this helps |
