I have been using Aveda at my local salon & spa for years. It has been just recently that I've developed an allergic reaction to their all sensitive moisturizing lotion during a European Facial. I have broke out with a rash on my face, arms and neck/throat area for 6 days now. This isn't the first time I've gotten a rash; I had a spa pedicure about 2 years ago and the technician used some Aveda lotion on my legs and they broke out in a rash. Aveda may be a good product but, it has become bad for me. I won't be using it anymore at the salon I go to.
I forgot to add that I've been using 100% pure Aloe Vera gel on my face, neck and arms. It stops the itching. The rash caused my face to break out with small bumps and burns but I don't have the puffy eyes or scratchy throat; on my arms, I have small red bumps and the itch on both my face and arms is almost intolerable. |

I accidentally came to this forum
I'm not an expert in allergies.
My sister tormented allergy and rashes on the skin for many years. Recently, our friend sent us a napkin for a person from 100% bamboo pulp with its factories. It's amazing, but it had no more problems.
Perhaps you should also try to use natural products.
This is only my opinion |

|
|
| I just got back from Maine where our hotel had Aveda products (soaps, moisturizers, etc) in their bathrooms. I used the All Sensitive moisturizer one morning and by that afternoon I was covered with a rash over my arms and legs (the only places I applied the moisturizer). By the next day, the rash was worse and now, five days later, I am covered with hives. I went to the Doctor today and he prescribed a steroid cream and Benadryl and also mentioned that he treated another patient (who just got back from an Ottawa hotel which had Aveda products) with the same rash. I'll never use Aveda again. This is painful!!! |

|
|
| I went to school at Aveda and more than half of our class had a reaction to the all sensitive line when we used it. We were told that this never happenned before. Are class supposedly was the first to have so many people that were allergic or had a reaction to the product. I also had complaints from friends who I sold the tourmaline eye cream to. A few of them developed bumps around their eyes. When I brought this to the attention of my instructor she told me that she would get back to me after she found out any information. I never got an answer. |

I had just started back using aveda outer peace products but my skin condition seemed to be getting worse. I thought it was that it would get worse before it gets better! But reading the comments on the site I'm not so sure.
I was treated at an aveda salon for Acne but now it appears that I have Rocacea - If you think you have Acne please check with a doctor first - rocacea could be your problem. It's a completely different skin condition especially in people past their 20's that seem to develop 'acne' |
